I’m calling a canna bull crap!
The internet is lit up with fantastic claims of unlikely cannabis businesses and products coming to the market, and cannabis friendly states near you. Here are some of the top stories clouding up the cannabis consumer’s mind.
Cannabis cigarettes from Lucky Strikes or Marlboro is not going to happen, as much as we would all like to walk to the corner mart for a pack of the good stuff.
The long running story of a Lucky Strikes joint lottery where 1 in 1000 cigarettes is not tobacco but cannabis is too good to be true. The story is almost as old as Lucky Strikes cigarettes and could have been started in the 1940s or earlier. This might also be where the lucky cigarette ritual of flipping over a cigarette when you open a fresh pack of smokes came from. There are easier and cheaper ways to get a joint than buying a carton of cigarettes.
Marlboro M (for Marijuana) is total BS too, this urban legend has been making its rounds since the 60s and has never been true, ever! This legend states that the Phillip Morris Company is contracting with Mexican and Paraguayan drug lords to grow cannabis, and distribute it on a commercial level in the United States. With $15 million dollars in advertising and packaging to help it along. The story has been firing up cannabis users for decades, and was revitalized by articles published by Abril Uno (that means April 1st for all you gringos) as a joke in 2014/15, and was so easy to push because (you know you want it) of the growing cannabis industry in Colorado and Washington.
As for the Scarlet Theater, another potential cannabis friendly theater, there is no news of it actually being open, and their Facebook page has shown no updates since April 2015. I have tried making contact with them about a grand opening, and have received no response at this time.
I hope that clears the air on a few cannabis myths that have been making the rounds in the media circus that is the internet.
Have a great weekend!
